Terriers and the newborn

For those who don't know, we have two dogs: Keisha, a grumpy 10-year-old pit bull terrier and Dingo, a spastic 3-year old Manchester terrier.
A lot of people have asked how the dogs have gotten along with the baby.

KEISHA:  very protective.  She follows Vivian where ever she goes and guards her.  Now, Keisha is old and her hips hurt so going up and down the stairs is tough for her, but she does it.  Keisha will also find one of us if the baby is alone and starts fussing.  (We have baby monitors but Keisha doesn't know that.)

DINGO:  completely ignores Vivian.  She will sniff at Vivian's toes if the baby is sleeping, but if Vivian's eyes are open, Dingo won't make eye contact or even acknowledge her.  Dingo knows her order in the family hiearachy - dead last.

We got a barrier for the CR-V so Vivian gets the middle all to herself.  The dogs are not allowed in Vivian's room.  For now, things are great.  Let's see what happens when she starts to crawl!
